• Geschichte: This is an amazing hike in the Sani Pass area. The balancing rocks were impressive, they were several meters wide. But also impressive was the spitting cobra on the hiking trail – made me jump back a few meters.
• Geologie: This is a basalt, a rock that forms when lava of a certain compositions cools and solidifies. The area around Sani Pass is made up of many basalt lava flows which once formed a flat plateau. Later, erosion incised valleys into this plateau and formed the bizarre rock formations along the Balancing Rock Trail.
