Geschichte: I found this wonderful specimen on the road in a very picturesque and historic location. The unusual shape highly distinguished this specimen from other rocks. It is only a fragment of a shell of a large prehistoric animal that lived well over 440 million years ago.
Geologie: Not far from this place is the Kitaigorodsky section, one of the most complete sections of Silurian and Devonian deposits in the world. It begins on the left bank of the Ternava River and covers the entire hillside on the outskirts of the village Kitaygorod. The specimen found is a fragment of an Endoceras, a giant, straight shelled, extinct cephalopod.
