Geschichte: The best time to visit this place is probably after most tourists have left or before they arrive. We were there late in the evening and early the next morning. At that time, the pinnacles were illuminated in the most beautiful light. And then even an emu walked by. Pretty nice.
Geologie: This travel stone is a limestone. It is composed of shell fragments of a marine fauna, meaning that it formed in the sea. It is not clear yet how the pinnacles formed. One idea states that the pinnacles are the remnants of weathering: once there has been a continuous layer of limestone which then got weathered and all that remained are the pinnacles visible today.
