Geschichte: Bullers of Buchan is an amazing coast line with cliffs, stone arcs, a castle ruin - and wonderful granite eggs on the beach that were rounded by the sea. The check-in person at the airport was not happy about my 30 kg backpack with rocks in it.
Geologie: This granite was formed below the Earth's surface where magma cooled slowly and became solid rock. After the its formation, erosion of the rocks on top of the granite brought it to the surface where it got exposed to the waves of the sea. The waves produced the round, egg-shaped rocks.
